Caroline join Pawprints in early 2022 and has brought with her vast experience from the dog industry. Caroline has owner her own dog business since 2014 and before that has worked in a veterinary surgery. Caroline prides herself on ensuring that every training package is built around the best needs of the dog and their family. She does not believe that a training package is one size fits all and works extra hard to ensure the program is built to get the most out of your dog.

LEAD WALKING
3 sessions
(approx 90 MINUTES per session)
Do you struggle when taking your dog out for a walk due to pulling on the lead? Have you started to dread taking your dog out because you know it won’t be the peaceful walk that you hoped for?
We might be able to help you!
Our Lead walking programme includes a bespoke package for your dog built around the following:

Loose Lead Walking and best practice communication with your dog whilst on a lead.

Connectivity with your dog whilst out on a walk so you are able to easily capture their attention when faced with distractions.

Teaching Sit/Stay to give control when you need it, such as picking up after your dog.

Discuss the best equipment to use for you and you dog based on your individual needs as a family and how to set yourself up for success from the beginning of the walk.
Our 1-2-1 sessions offer a personal approach to ensure you get the best out of your training with our on site dog trainer and work with what is best for you and your family. If you have something you need help with that isn’t above, please get in touch to discuss what options are available to you.
At the end of these sessions you should be capable to:

Have a pleasant walk with your dog with a noticeable reduction in your dogs pulling

Have a better understanding on what triggers may cause your dog to pull

How to identify triggers that cause your dog to pull and how to confidently manage the situations when they arise.

RECALL
3 sessions
(approx 90 MINUTES per session)
When out with your dog, do you let them off the lead to have some time to run about? Does your dog return when called? Or do they choose to come back when ready? Maybe they return when there are no distractions but if they see another dog, they conveniently forget their name?
This is where we can help you!
Our recall programme includes a bespoke package for your dog built around the following:

Building the foundation for your dogs recall

Adding temptation in recall situations

Designing a plan around your dogs triggers

How to transition from a long line to be able to have your dog off the lead
Reliable Recall is arguably one of the most important lessons to teach your dog, as there are many safety points to consider when your dog chooses when to return which could have extreme consequences. From running into traffic causing an accident, approaching other dogs who want to be left alone, chasing members of the public or livestock, all of which can lead to your dog being out of control in public, which can be considered an offence. Therefore, if you are planning to let your dog off the lead, then a solid recall is extremely important.
Our 1-2-1 sessions offer a personal approach to ensure you get the best out of your training with our resident dog trainer and work with what is best for you and your family.
At the end of these sessions you should be capable to:

confidently identify the distractions your dog has preventing them from returning to you.

Have the tools to be able to manage your dogs recall

Understand your dogs motivation and be able to use that to your advantage in recall situations
