· Dog TV · Glass Fronts · Soothing Music · Quiet Building · Great for nervous dogs · Individually thermostated heating ·

Our new Pethouse suites launched in July 2017. every decision made in these state-of-the-art boarding kennels have been made with dogs in mind. From the single facing suites to help reduce the amount of noise inside the building to the colour of the floor in the exercise areas to encourage the dogs to toilet outside.

Entertainment system

Each of our Pethouse suites come with a TV and music system which has dedicated dog programming to help give a balance or stimulation and relaxation throughout the day.

Heating

All of our kennels are heated the pethouse suites are all have individual thermostats fitted to each suite. this allows us to tailor the temperature of each suite to suit the dogs need as we know not all dogs like to have the same temperature. All the heaters in the suites are infrared heaters to ensure there is always a warm spot in the room even when the hatches are left open. We chose infrared heaters as these also come with health benefits for the dogs staying with us. Infrared has been proven to help with the following: inflammation, muscle spasms, joint stiffness, blood flow and circulation & weight loss amongst other things.

Exercise Runs

The Exercise runs have been designed so that no dogs are able to see each other whilst in their run. This helps reduce the amount of noise and also helps any dogs that might be timid around other dogs. The floor has a green flake resin finish to resemble grass to help encourage dogs to toilet if they need to. All of the runs are fully enclosed so that dogs will not get wet if it rains.

Relaxation

The building holding the penthouse suites has been purposely designed to reduce noise and help relaxation during your dogs stay. Having a single corridor helps reduce the amount of barking and the glass fronts also help keep any noise in the block down to a minimum to give our guests the best chance to relax whilst with us. Windows are installed in each suite to bring in more natural light, this along with having the attached exercise run gives your dog the chance to have more sun whilst in their suite.

Exercise

All dogs that stay at Pawprints get regular exercise in our off lead play paddock.

Standard Rooms

Spacious, Comfortable & Designed for Your Dog’s Needs

Our Standard Rooms are some of the most spacious in the local area, giving your dog plenty of room to stretch out, relax, and feel at home during their stay. Each room is individually heated to ensure your dog stays cosy and comfortable in all seasons.

These rooms are ideal for social dogs who enjoy seeing other dogs nearby, as the rooms face each other to create a friendly, engaging environment.

Quiet Area Available

We also offer a dedicated quiet area within our Standard Rooms — perfect for dogs who prefer a little extra privacy but don’t require the additional cost of one of our luxury suites.

Every Stay Includes:

  • Spacious room with attached private run

  • Individual heating for year-round comfort

  • Daily access to one of our secure play paddocks for off-lead exercise

  • Trampoline-style bed for extra comfort and joint support

  • Food provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own

  • The option to book a room in our quiet area for more nervous or timid dogs

We tailor each stay to suit your dog’s personality — whether they love to be part of the action or prefer a peaceful corner to themselves.

Play PaddockS

Exercise & Fun for Every Guest

We believe in being open and realistic about how much time your dog gets outside — no exaggerated promises, just the best care we can provide, tailored to your dog.

All dogs staying with us get daily access to our secure play paddocks for off-lead exercise and mental stimulation. These sessions are fully supervised and designed to give your dog the chance to stretch their legs, explore, and enjoy some time outside of their room.

We work to staffing ratios higher than national 5-star standards, operating with approximately 1 staff member to every 10–12 dogs, compared to the required 1 to 15 for 5-star rated kennels. This helps us ensure that every dog gets proper care, attention, and meaningful exercise during their stay.

We’re proud to say we don’t overpromise or exaggerate how much time your dog gets out — we maximise paddock time as much as possible based on the number of dogs and staff working each day.

Thinking of comparing kennels?

Before deciding, ask the following:

✔️ How many dogs do you take at one time?

✔️ How many staff work each day?

✔️ How often and for how long do the dogs go outside?

This will help you get a realistic picture of the exercise and attention your dog will actually receive.

One-on-One Time

We bring dogs out individually for their paddock sessions, giving them personal space to run, play, and relax without the stress of other dogs for 20 minutes per day — unless they’re taking part in one of our Yappy Hour social play sessions (see below).

Why We Don’t Offer Walks

We believe that paddock time is more stimulating than a short, lead-restricted walk. The paddock gives your dog the freedom to stretch their legs, explore, and play in a secure environment, providing both physical exercise and mental enrichment.

For dogs who love to socialise, we offer our optional Yappy Hour sessions, providing even more time outside compared to standard paddock sessions.

Yappy Hour gives friendly, temperament-tested dogs the chance to mix with others in our secure paddock for around an hour of group playtime — substantially more outdoor time than a standard session.

Please note: Due to closer dog-to-dog contact, all dogs must be vaccinated against Kennel Cough to take part.

Yappy Hour is a great way to add extra enrichment and maximise your dog’s exercise time during their stay.

WE DO NOT conduct IN PERSON VIEWINGS

We understand that people like to see the facilities that they are leaving their dogs in before they come to stay with us. We have noticed that allowing less people into the area that the dogs stay with us has created a better environment for our guests as they do not see anyone who they are not familiar with. As we have seen this positive change in our guests we have taken the decision to no longer off in person viewings of the rooms. We encourage people to come and speak to us in our reception (via prior arranged appointment) and we are also willing to share videos/photos of the rooms for people to see. If you would like to talk to us or for us to send more information to you please let us know.
