DeMatting Policy
We will attempt to de-mat a coat for a maximum time of 15 minutes, and only if we feel that the dog will not suffer pain. In the event the the dog is in pain whilt attempting to remove the matt we will contact the owner and advise in the interests of the dog, we will recommend to shave off a matted coat, to prevent unnecessary suffering. We will always advise the owner before this is done. Please note: our normal grooming charge does not include de-matting, any de-matting will be charged for as an additional cost.
We do not de-mat; Puppies, infirm/elderly or aggressive dogs. Matted fur or hair on your dog may result in us having to clip close to the dog’s skin. This can in some cases cause skin irritation or skin nicks from the close shaving. You agree that Pawprints Dog Grooming will not be held responsible for any affect that this has after the grooming session is complete. Badly neglected coats can be especially prone to this. The owner of the dog agrees to pay all costs for the grooming of the dog, including de-matting which is an extra cost, whether or not the groomer is able to complete the job.
Aggression/anxiety
We reserve the right to refuse to groom aggressive or difficult dogs with behavioural problems. The dog owner must agree to inform us if their dog is known to be aggressive or has ever bitten anyone. The owner understands that they will be legally liable for the consequences of all bites caused by their dog.
we reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog we consider could create risk of safety to either the groomer or dog. An appropriate muzzle may be used, or services discontinued for the wellbeing of all involved. If aggression is shown towards us by the dog during the groom we may also stop the groom whether or not the groomer is able to complete the job.
Media
The owner consents to Pawprints using photos taken of their dog during their groom to be used on their websites & social media platforms for advertising purposes. All images are subject to copyright and are owned by Pawprints and must not be re-used by you for business purposes.
