National Dog Day 2018
This Sunday is National Dog Day so we thought we'd share some ideas on what you can do with your dog to help celebrate the day. First a little background about the day:
National Dog Day is the celebration of dogs that happens annually nationwide; it was originally created in 2004 by Colleen Paige, a pet and lifestyle expert and animal rights advocate. Colleen is also the founder of National Puppy Day, National Mutt/crossbreed Day and National Cat Day; all of these days take place to show appreciation to your pet whilst spoiling them, and to encourage adoption!
Way to celebrate and spoil your dog this National Dog’s day: Dog Gathering/Picnic! Taking your dog/s somewhere they can be let off the lead and allowing them to run free with others is a great way to celebrate. Events like these are great for socialisation and a great way to treat your dog as exercising whilst playing with others is amazing for their health and stimulation. Our paddock is a great place to host this, a safe and secure environment to let your dog off their lead without having to worry about them going anywhere! We still have a few spaces left for this Sunday: to book please visit http://pawprints.dog/DogPaddock
Foooooood! Another good way to let your furry pal know how much they mean to you is to make them something delicious, We've had a look to see if we can find some recipes you can try with your dog this weekend. Fancy making Cinnamon Bun Bites, Peanut Butter and Banana dog treats, Flax Seed dog biscuits or Blueberry and Apple doughnuts check out our links below! Run! Join in the Day of the Dog Run 2018 in Manchester to raise awareness and funds for Freedom Service Dogs, which is an organisation that helps people with disabilities by custom training a rescue dog to assist the person in need, this gives the person more independence and the pup a second chance!
